FirstCinema on your phone
The same diary, the same lists and the same people, in an app built for the screen you already have in your hand when the credits roll.

In the meantime, FirstCinema works in any mobile browser, and your phone can add it to the home screen from the share menu, where it opens without the browser's chrome around it.
What is in it
- Your diary
- Every film you rate lands in your diary with the date you watched it, so a year reads back as a record rather than a pile of opinions. Log a rewatch without losing the first time you saw it, and back-date anything you got round to logging late.
- Rating and marking
- Half stars from a sheet that opens under your thumb rather than at the top of the screen. Watched, liked and saved are one tap each, and they take effect before the network has answered.
- Reviews
- Write in the app with real formatting, mark spoilers, and read the comments underneath. Every review sits next to the ones either side of it in your own viewing history, so a film you saw in March is read in the context of what March looked like.
- Lists
- Build lists, ranked or not, reorder them by dragging, and add a film to one from the film's own page. Track how far through somebody else's you have got.
- Discover and Roulette
- Discover asks a few questions about what you are in the mood for tonight and draws one film from your own history. Roulette skips the questions and picks.
- People
- Follow members whose taste you trust, see what your friends made of the film you are looking at without leaving its page, and reply to what they wrote. Block anyone you would rather not hear from and they disappear from every listing you see.
- Notifications
- A push when somebody follows you, likes what you wrote, or replies to it, and an inbox in the app that keeps them. Each kind has its own switch in Settings, and so does the lot.
- Search and browse
- One search across films, people, reviews and lists, and a browse screen with genre and release-window filters for when you would rather look than type.
- Language and theme
- English, Spanish and French, following your phone's own language, with the dates in it translated too. Light, dark, or whatever the phone is doing.
One account, both places
It is the same account and the same catalogue. Rate a film on the way out of the cinema and it is on your profile before you are home: in your diary, in your recommendations, and in the activity of everybody following you. There is nothing to move across, and nothing that lives only on the phone.
A link to a film, a person, a profile, a review or a list opens in the app when you have it installed, whether you tapped it in a message or in a search result. The app also updates itself between store releases, and what changed each time is in the changelog.
