Ryōhei Arisu is a listless, video-game obsessed young man who finds his life turned upside down when he and his friends are transported to an empty, altered version of Tokyo called the Borderland. There, they must play deadly games whose difficulty is marked by playing‐cards, with every loss costing their lives and their “visas” to stay alive ticking down. As they delve deeper, Arisu teams up with Yuzuha Usagi and others, uncovering the dark purpose behind the games and challenging the face cards who rule this strange world.
