Overview

Life in 1847 Paris is as spirited as champagne and as unforgiving as the gray morning after. In gambling dens and lavish soirees, men of means exert their wills and women turned courtesans exult in pleasure. One such woman is Marguerite Gautier, who begins a sumptuous romance with Armand Duval.

How It Feels

Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.

A lush, fatalistic romance set amid the glittering excess of 1840s Paris, where a courtesan and a gentleman from a respectable family find themselves ensnared by a love that society, and fate, will not permit.
