Overview

'Izarrak' explores the route that has led Basque gastronomy and the area of San Sebastián to become a unique global benchmark. From the seafaring expeditions that would set sail from Pasaia 500 years ago in search of fortune and spice to the revolution of Basque Nouvelle Cuisine, the documentary intertwines identity and territory with the stories of those who come today to Gipuzkoa in search of a future and of those who work on the sea and land to preserve a tradition with its eyes set on tomorrow.
