Overview

Adam is a young boy with Asperger's syndrome growing up in the aftermath of World War I. Inspired by H. G. Wells' The Time Machine, he dreams of traveling to the future and isolates himself in an old silo to build a time machine. Years later, he finally completes it, but it explodes upon activation. As Adam leaves the silo, he discovers a mud wall bearing a message carved by his mother. Stepping outside, he is astonished by the sight of cars, airplanes, and skyscrapers. Has he simply reached the future through the passage of time, or has he truly traveled through time and space?

How It Feels

Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.

A poignant meditation on time, memory, and the gap between imagination and reality, following a neurodivergent boy's decades-long quest to escape the present. It trades certainty for ambiguity, asking whether meaning resides in the destination or in the journey itself.
