Overview

solanaceae is structured like an invocation. A voice addresses us without revealing its origin. It speaks of rituals, healing and intoxication, of a knowledge that has been revered and persecuted for centuries. Only gradually does the perspective shift: the voice does not belong to a human being. It is not a plant being invoked—the plant itself speaks from the ground. In a time of collective exhaustion, the work asks about other forms of knowledge, memory and transformation. The starting point is research into henbane, a plant that has been associated with magical practices and transformation for centuries.

How It Feels

Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.

A meditative invocation that slowly reveals its speaker is not human but the earth itself, blending botanical history with philosophical inquiry into forgotten ways of knowing. The mood is hypnotic and strange, asking what we might learn if we listened differently.
