Overview
Summer 1944. Walter Proska is about to return to the Eastern Front when his train is blown up by partisans. Together with a scattered bunch of German soldiers, cut off from the front, he awaits certain death while the commands of his superior Willi Stehauf are becoming more and more senseless and inhuman.
How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A bleak wartime survival story that follows trapped German soldiers grappling with fractured command and the erosion of their humanity. The focus is less on battle than on how desperation and systemic cruelty reshape ordinary men's choices.
