Tryfon Karatzas (Athens, 5 October 1935 – 17 January 2019) was a Greek television, theater and film actor with a 60-year acting career. In elementary school he was a classmate of Alekos Fasianos. He studied at Panteion University and then with a scholarship at the Drama School of the Athens Conservatory where he had Dimitris Rodiris as a teacher. During his military service he served as an announcer at the Armed Forces Radio Station (1958). After the army, he continued for a number of years to work as a radio announcer, alongside his theatrical activity. From the age of 11 he was a cantor.
