Maryna Biletska

Maryna Biletska grew up in the small city of Cherkasy, Ukraine. Her father left to join a cult before she was born, so she was raised by her single mother, who worked tirelessly to make ends meet. When Maryna was four, her mother met her stepfather, and she lived with them until she turned 18. From a young age, Maryna found solace in writing poetry and music-her favorite hobbies. Dreaming of freedom and new opportunities, she saw America as the ideal place to pursue her aspirations. At 18, she seized the chance to participate in the "Work and Travel" program through her university, which brought her to New York City, leaving her small hometown behind.
