Breakdown

Kurt Russell was born to be an action star. From <I>Escape to New York</i> to <I>Executive Decision</i>, even <I>The Thing</i>, he has been an action powerhouse for many years.

<I>Breakdown</i> isn't as action-filled as the aforementioned films, but Russell can still capture the same amount of attention as them. He's a versatile actor, able to express different emotions and can snap on demand, but it's in this film where we him do it all. His role as Jeff, a devoted husband traveling with his wife across the country to their new home in California, is first shown as a relaxed, doting husband. When his wife is kidnapped, his demeanor changes and the emergency mode switch is turned on. The gang orchestrating these kidnappings have been at it for years, and it's his job to rescue his wife and end their reign of terror once and for all.

There are plenty of noteworthy action scenes in the film that LG OLED's Filmmaker Mode perfectly displayed. I remember seeing the film in theaters back in 1997, and watching it again today brought back the same memories and experience.
