Goodbye, Woodsboro. Hello, New York City.
As someone who was not a fan of <i><a href="https://boxd.it/o0lg" rel="nofollow">Scream</a></i> (2022), mostly due to mismanaged characters, implausible scenarios, and a group of teenagers who lacked a sense of emotion, I found this latest installment a breath of fresh air.
From beginning to end, this film is a nonstop rollercoaster ride. Sure, there are a few bits of downtime, but there's something always happening, especially in a city like Montreal... er, New York City.
I can write a lengthy review and point out both the strong points and flaws, but I'll get straight to the point: This film was great! It's a giant leap ahead of <i><a href="https://boxd.it/o0lg" rel="nofollow">Scream</a></i> (2022), and is now my favorite sequel in the franchise, knocking out <i><a href="https://boxd.it/Zmc" rel="nofollow">Scream 4</a></i>. The kills are fresh, twists both predictable and a few surprising, and Ghostface (singular or plural) is absolutely fuckin' brutal.
I was able to catch a screening in Real 3D, but definitely watch it on the big screen. You won't regret it.

I rate films on a 1, 3, and 5 star scale. This movie was not perfect, so it didn't snag the 5-star status, but it was <b>very close</b>. However, if I ever have to sit through that Demi Lovato music video ever again, especially before a film, the rating goes down to a solid zero.
