Parker Finn's 2022 feature debut Smile was a huge success at the box office, due mostly to its fantastic marketing efforts. I wasn't a big fan (Review) as I felt it lacked in many areas, including both its storyline and scares. Plus, the main character slowly moved along knowing she had little time left. While I did give it three stars, I felt that I was too nice... but Smile 2 is another story.
The opening is one of the best I've seen this year. Without spoiling it, let's just say it sets the stage for what unfolds throughout the two hour film, which boasts both a bigger budget and sets.
Naomi Scott is a trooper throughout the film, showcasing a rollercoaster of emotions that lead up to one of the craziest endings I've seen in a long time (and one that sets the stage for a potential Smile 3).
Final thoughts:
This film put a BIG smile on my face.
