Chloe Okuno's feature film debut, Watcher, is one not to miss. Everything about it is perfect, from the setting to the cast, all which help this story unfold until the very last minute. LG OLED's Filmmaker Mode provided an unreal movie-watching experience, bringing to life thought the screen a foreign city, its dark underground "museums" and building structures, as well as Okuno's desire to focus on her characters and their actions.
I had originally given the film three stars, but, after a few more viewings, I can honestly say that it's a five-star film. The actors give stellar performances, including Maika Monroe, who delivers a performance that truly showcases her character's willingness to try and fit in to a new country and its surroundings but becomes uncomfortable with certain events surrounding her, and Burn Gorman, who, as "The Watcher", delivers a creepy performance who menaces Maika Monroe from both near and afar, all while oozing a potential sinister aura about him.
