hillarious that james wan out of every director walked out of a test screening(or at least, this is only a rumor probably) but if he did, then he should sit down since this is better then anything he's made.

while i do think focusing on a mixed family while it takes place and is rooted in arabic text and land because god forbid we need the audience to have a white character, its still a great film about trauma that breaks family and the sacrifices that natural come its way to us.
jack reynor is the only FINE performance, everyone else is great, especially laia costa. its a way meaner but also a more effective take on a classic monster. i had that problem with the wolf man from last year.

the cinematography is great, i love how many split diopter and close up shots there are which amplifies the terror.
the editing is fast and frantic and lingering when it needs to be.
i liked lee cronin's the mummy.
