Monumental improvement in acting, use of locations and sets.
The acting is really good but kubrick still needs to learn how to write interesting characters or at least for me I found it very hard to connect with any of these people.
It lacks focus on what it wants to say imo. Its a heist film but not really, it feels like a bit of a character study but I can't decide who's the main character because at least 4 or 5 characters are integral to the plot and its getting hard to invest when it jumps between characters pretty frequently.
