Probably one of the most important queer films of the 80s as I think it stands out by displaying realistic tragedy mixed with sweet and heartfelt moments that isn't just misery porn which is rare for the time.
The drama is so juicy, the characters are realistic and well explored instead of just showing us their misery which will always play part into queer and trans stories but most of the time is never done really well.
Its exploration on being queer with society, family and friends feels so real and relatable.
The cinematography is filled with neon lights filling the streets and the houses sporting multiple bright colors to boot. The torch trilogy simply is a fantastic watch.
