Real Women Have Curves

America Ferrera has been choosing roles to inspire and lift up women from her very first film. We love America Ferrera.

This embodies that early 2000's indie film aesthetic. I spent most of the movie being mad at her mom, so I guess it really put me in the shoes of the teenage lead. Overall it feels very real: the characters, their dialogue, their struggles. The only thing that made me go hmmmm was being able to apply to Columbia after graduation and get accepted with a full scholarship, but I'll let them have that one.
