Its ridiculously premise and its straightforward-Ness is the strength of this film.
It really is just an 80s action flick that really represents what action flicks were at the time but I think what this one does so good is be so serious about itself when whats going on is so silly. Allot of action films from this time are indeed silly BUT there is something much more silly about this, from the fact the female character allongside him for this adventure is just some random woman that got cat called by one of the villains henchmen, to an action staple of a character being a one man army.
To be fair they do make it kinda work by one of the henchmen being terrified by him.Is the film in the end good?....eh?
Like yeah its pretty fun, its cinematography is pretty good but i can't be invested in any character.
The movie is, to me, a comedic venture and like that, yeah it does do a pretty decent job but i'd be lying if i didn't say that sometimes these tropes do get old even when they are fun to watch. Not everything has the same comedic effect.
