Look, i like ridley scotts direction and
Russel crow and joaquin pheonix in their respective roles but i can't really get into the story all that much.
I like maximus, commodus is a great villain but the pacing is not that good and i didn't think the middle chunk of the film was that great.
I think the fights and cinematography are great tho.

How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A sweeping historical epic about a fallen general forced into slavery and the arena, where brutal combat becomes the stage for reckoning with loss and injustice. It's a film that channels grief and rage into spectacle, mixing intimate human tragedy with the grandiosity of Rome's decline.

Reviews
I've never watched this before, because it really seemed like it wouldn't be my kind of movie. I was right, it's not, but I enjoyed it anyway.
