Hiroshima Mon Amour

i did find the the main themes of the fear of remembering and forgetting.
thats something we all face once in our life but i also don't think the historical connection between france and japan isn't that huge during the time of the hiroshima bombing for this to be so impactfull.

sure, japan had a slight confrontation with vichy france but that wasn't that huge of a thing from what i've read and the romance is decent but largely its held together by the themes of, like i said, remembering and forgetting.

i do think stuff related to that is really good and in some ways it helps the romance be engaging due to the time left with eachother but im not so strong on that romance. it is a conflicting movie to say the least where i could talk about tho pros and cons and how each of positives help strengthen the somewhat negatives but i also think its more interesting in its panicking of time rather then any of its ideas the hiroshima bombing. its lingering trauma through its linear storytelling is unique and engaging and ultimately, the film is a bit tricky but ultimately i do think its "good" but i do have conflicting feelings.
