How It Feels

Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.

A lean, propulsive revenge thriller where a composed ex-Marine takes on a corrupt police apparatus in a small Louisiana town. It's the kind of film that escalates methodically from injustice to confrontation, powered by righteous fury and strategic precision.

I understand the hype around Rebel Ridge, given its great cast and storyline, but what I felt I watched was different than many of the other reviews on Letterboxd, IMDb and elsewhere.

Rebel Ridge is an action film that was mostly missing the action elements, while providing us with both acting and dialog that was unenthusiastic and monotone. In addition, the action presented was mostly unnecessary, and then the film just comes to a quick end.

Aaron Pierre and Don Johnson were well-cast in their roles, but, for the entirety of the film, Pierre was still in Old form, and it just didn't fit well throughout.
