The first Jean Rollin I watched was fun, weird, and quirky. This one would be except for about 15 minutes that make the entire film gross and sleazy.
The few minutes of torture near the end I could almost forgive, but the 10 minute r@pe scene earlier on, just ruins the whole film for me. I’m no prude and have watched countless hours of European horror, so this sort of thing isn’t new to me, but this wasn’t relevant to anything that goes on in the rest of the film and is just disgusting. Shock for shock value.
Very disappointed as I really thought I’d like this one as much as Shiver of the Vampire.
