Speed Racer

speed racer simply is not JUST a film, its the wachowski sisters teaching everybody how to meaningfully construct an unrealistic world in live action with vfx.

its the antidote to modern use of technology in films, where everybody uses it to create the impossible in a realistic inviroment, speed racer does the opposite and creates a whole new style of its own.
the transitions, the fast but not to fast, punchy editing, the camerawork, they are all puzzle pieces to construct a film full of character.
we don't qeustion anything, the 2008 vfx that should look weird actually adds to the believe that this is how the world and logic in the film works.

the performances are excellent and the hyper kinetic action and story telling creates a layer to its cast that has never been done previously or after.
speed racer is not just the wachowski's flexing but also remolding what a film can do with visuall effects. i especially love the camerawork in the racing scenes.
