a lot more earnest then apatows later films yet still nothing noteworthy.
general audiences will eat anything up, its depiction of sex and virginity is better then most as it doesn't make carrel a pervert yet his character is.....nothing. its just that he's a virgin.
not a single laugh.(watch my feature film https://boxd.it/cQ1mBp )

Andy Stitzer has a pleasant life with a nice apartment and a job stamping invoices at an electronics store. But at age 40, there's one thing Andy hasn't done, and it's really bothering his sex-obsessed male co-workers: Andy is still a virgin. Determined to help Andy get laid, the guys make it their mission to de-virginize him. But it all seems hopeless until Andy meets small business owner Trish, a single mom.

How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A warm, funny meditation on loneliness and connection disguised as a raunchy sex comedy. It's earnest beneath the jokes, genuinely rooting for its protagonist to find not just sex, but real intimacy and belonging.

Reviews
This was my favorite movie when it came out. I saw it at the theater with a guy who I thought was lying about not being a virgin, so I kept trying to watch his responses to Andy's lies about it. I'll never know.
Some of this didn't age well, but I don't care. Leslie Mann's wanting some FRENCH TOAST will stay with me forever.
