George sluizer's spoorloos is a slow burn that grips you.
Rex is a man who lost his fiance via kidnapping and can't let go. He grows paranoid over the years and is desperate to find out and when he gets that chance offered by the kidnapper himself Raymond lemorne and as he can't let go, he himself is then trapped and presumably killed.
Lemorne is a sociopath and like a lot of this decade, the 1980s was one full with serial killers and related outcry. The vanishing displays an idea that we maybe seek out those killers or rather we would want answers more then justice and what did justice mean for relatives of victims?

How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A methodical, suffocating exploration of what it means to be consumed by the absence of someone you love, where the search for answers becomes as perilous as the mystery itself. The film treats its horror as mundane tragedy rather than spectacle, making every moment unbearably intimate.
