Did I call this Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Michigan? Yes. How many times? I think at least three.
I loved this as I was watching it. I always love Sam Rockwell, and he and Frances McDormand are so great here, especially at nailing the dark comedy. It also feels like the kind of movie that can kind of fall apart if you really think about it, but I'm not going to think about it anymore right now than I already have.

After seven months have passed without a culprit in her daughter's murder case, Mildred Hayes makes a bold move, painting three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at Bill Willoughby, the town's revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Jason Dixon, an immature mother's boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing's law enforcement is only exacerbated.

How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A bruising character study wrapped in a crime drama, where grief and righteous rage collide with small-town inertia and institutional failure. It's an uncomfortable, darkly funny provocation about whether anger is ever truly justified.
