Biography

Beth Mickle is a production designer. Raised in Douglassville, Pennsylvania, she began her creative journey making short films with her brother, director Jim Mickle. She later moved to New York to study at Columbia University, where she continued collaborating on Jim’s NYU projects. Mickle gained early recognition through her collaboration with directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden on Half Nelson, which earned Ryan Gosling an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. In 2009, she teamed up with director Nicolas Winding Refn for Drive, earning an Art Directors Guild nomination for Excellence in Production Design.
