Onibaba

a film about lust and the societal and economical collapse that are rooted in war.

we never see any war but thats a good thing as the film uses its tall grass and water. the need for any companionship also grows when isolated, lust overtakes someone more and more. crops die, there is barely any food which needs huge sacrifices to get.
these people are in need for almost everything but its not available, the onibaba is a metaphorical beast thats there, it punishes the people, like the war as the mask was first seen on a samurai.
