I'm pretty neutral on Selena. I love the hits. I expected this documentary to be a PR device, only showing Selena at her best, or at least at her most relatable.
However, this is much more balanced, presenting Selena as a real person with mental health struggles and flaws. They include moments of her being insecure about her body and her talents. She talks about having lupus and her time in a mental hospital which led to her bipolar diagnosis. They show her having fun with friends and family but also sometimes being irritable and bratty, like we all are. Overall, it isn't just a fluff piece.
