The trailer gave the game away, and even if it hadn’t, the movie gives it up way too early. Once the “twist” is revealed, it is just people running around getting bloody. (Did appreciate the nod to Dracula right at the start.) #MovieReview #Horror #Abigail #Vampire

Abigail is one I will definitely watch again. It doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering the horror moments. It reminds me of the late 90s/early 00s horror movies with an ensemble of stars-on-the-rise getting picked off until only the final girl remains. Melissa Barrera is great here; you can't take your eyes off her. Kathryn Newton is the scene-stealer.
I wish I didn't already the twist, but it was in the trailers. I guess they figure "vampire ballerina" will get more eyes than "kidnappers in a house", and they're probably right, but it would have been very cool to have been surprised.
