I'm not especially keen on found footage films, but I enjoyed this more now than I did when it came out. I was actually really invested in the characters and their relationships during the party, moreso than I was interested in the monster. Once the attack happened, it's sort of go, go, go, which makes sense for the film. It's just not really my preference.
