darkman is one of the more forgotten comic book movies, probably also because i have never heard someone talk about the comic it was based on.
sam raimi's first ever comic book film, its more rough around the edges as the script is sometimes pretty weak.
it does touch on a man overflowed with grief and sadness. a man who tries to reach what he once lost. a man who feels like a monster.
but its also really goofy which inherently is part of why it works.
it has fun with itself while also taking itself seriously enough.the film has a great cast, i really liked liam neeson as the main lead. i didn't read the cast list and so i was suprised to see him in here since i wouldn't expect him to do a film such as this but im pleasantly suprised.

How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A man transformed by tragedy into a masked vigilante tears through the city for vengeance with visceral energy and dark invention. It's pulpy superhero action rooted in genuine pain, less about saving the world than reclaiming a destroyed life.
