pretty decent, i was really engaged even when the film could have used allot more in the beginning and i mean in like allot more character exploration before we get into the slasher section of the film but overall not bad.

If Hush had been released and popular during the Scary Movie franchise era, there would have definitely been a scene parodying when the killer was making noises to try to get her attention before he realized she's deaf.

There's only so much you can do with a home invasion movie (I like them, but it's true), and centering on a deaf mute protagonist is an interesting and fresh perspective, even if it did take Maddie way too long to start to look for a weapon. I think it would have been scarier if the killer had kept his mask on though, because it was an effectively creepy mask, or at least waited longer to take it off.

There's <I>Bird Box</i> and <I>The Silence</i>, two films that play on two senses. Before them, however, we had <I>Hush</i>, which is far better than the two aforementioned films due to both the acting and plot. Also, this premise works as sound is the main character’s weakness as she struggles to stay alive while a(n) (un)masked killer patrols the property around her, both inside and out. One of Mike Flanagan's best!
