Least scary horror movie ever made.
As a horror movie it fails, as a film it fails in its characters at least.
The story is pretty good but the execution is dogshit.
No i do not like any of these characters and so i don't really care what happens.
The reason i liked beau is afraid so much and by extension hereditary is because they were genuinely very interesting films to watch and think about. Beau is afraid is like one of my favorite films ever.
But this just feels entirely numb.

Several friends travel to Sweden to study as anthropologists a summer festival that is held every ninety years in the remote hometown of one of them. What begins as a dream vacation in a place where the sun never sets, gradually turns into a dark nightmare as the mysterious inhabitants invite them to participate in their disturbing festive activities.

How It Feels
Read from this film's synopsis, keywords and credits, and used to work out what it sits beside.
A hallucinatory descent into folk-horror nightmare that traps you in daylight without escape, as a traumatized woman watches her circle systematically unravel within a cult's brutal rituals. The relentless Scandinavian sun becomes a cage rather than comfort.

Reviews
This was wild, but the craziest part is that someone would want to break up with Florence Pugh.
I managed to avoid the spoilers before watching this. All I knew was it is cult-related, and I had seen the movie poster, and something was going to happen with a bear. If you've still managed to not be spoiled, go into it that way as long as you aren't easily shaken. This will be a nice counterpart to the teen slashers that make up most of my annual Halloween list.
