I like that Shooter McGavin is the villain, and I like that before Vin Diesel was a tree, he was the Iron Giant.
I was 14 when this came out, and I didn't really care for it. I liked it more today. I appreciate that it's doing something a little different, being set during the Cold War and telling a sci-fi story. It's also not especially cutesy. There are some wholesome moments, but the overall vibe is not about a precocious kid finding a silly robot and embarking on shenanigans.
