Tom Ripley is a calculating young man who believes it's better to be a fake somebody than a real nobody. Great performances from the whole cast. Once the twist starts twisting, you can tell where some things will end up. It's a little long; at one point I thought it was wrapping up, and there was an hour left, but it's beautifully shot and the cast really delivers, so it doesn't drag.
