I don't like the Ted movies, so I was very surprised to like this show. The first episode was average, but the others all had several big laughs.
The laughs are very balanced between the main cast. This show would work without Ted just as a family sitcom. My favorite is Alanna Ubach, the mom, because I am biased and really love the Brady Bunch movie, in which she plays Marcia's best friend.
The actual episode plots aren't necessarily the best, but the jokes within really land. A lot of them come out of nowhere, but the unexpectedness adds to the appeal. There are a few references that I'm not sure fit the early 90s timeframe, but I don't think Ted needs to be historically accurate.

War Dogs is a perfectly average film. It has some action, some drama, some comedy, but not enough of any particular one for me to concretely assign it to a genre.
The summary said this is based on a true story, and while that is accurate, my post-watch Googling left me annoyed at how embellished it is. Every action scene is fiction, along with the ending briefcase of cash. Their backer in the movie is a Jewish dry-cleaner chain owner, but it was actually a Mormon machine gun manufacturer. The movie includes a turning point when they successfully save a deal for Berettas that they actually defaulted on.
I guess most movies are fiction so it shouldn't matter, but if you're presenting it as a true story, I want my googling to be more "wow that's crazy that this really happened!" and less "okay so which parts did actually happen?
Definitely had its moments. “Airplane” will come a few years later and define the spoof film, but this wasn’t a bad attempt.
It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I needed something to watch while I wait for my migraine medicine to kick in before Usher's halftime show tonight. I randomly picked this, and it turns out Usher is in it! This is fate.
Hustlers is so much better than the trailers. This cast of women are bringing their best, creating characters with depth and nuance. The strip club scenes are the most tasteful I've seen, which I am going to guess is thanks to having a female director/writer.
Also, the soundtrack is amazing. Jennifer Lopez does a pole dance routine to Fiona Apple's "Criminal". There's some Britney and a lot of Janet.
<I>Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave</i> is easily one of the worst zombie films ever made. That fact aside, throughout the entire film, Julian (played by John Keefe) looked like he had to fart the entire time.
It’s fun. Great cast.
Hardly the greatest movie ever or anything, but fun. Moral is, be really, really rich so you can really live.
I don't recall watching this, even though I gave it one star, but now regret giving it a rewatch.
Obnoxious characters, terrible acting, dialog that seems forced.... just an overall terrible film. I hate myself for watching it (again?).

Not the worst of Italian scifi/horror I’ve seen, but that isn’t a high bar.
Acting was pretty good, but the story not so much. Too many intelligent people doing very stupid things, and I just couldn’t figure out what the alien pods were for.
Clues revealed after off-screen investigation like late night yapping dog. Very annoying!
I’d of rated it higher but important clues revealed AFTER the culprit is caught is a really annoying trope.
There are a lot of things about La La Land that I loved. I love that it looks like it's in the 50's but it's present day. Emma Stone's and Ryan Gosling's performances. The first act when they are falling in love. The sets, costumes, colors, lights, dancing. I love the ending montage.
Even with all the things I loved, the middle loses me. I think it is partially due to having no concept of how much time is passing as they go through these relationship stages, which then leads to a five year time jump. Also for some reason John Legend took me out of it. I like John Legend, but all I could think was that he is John Legend.
I hate when movies are described as "Other Movie but for girls!" Bridesmaids is Hangover for girls! Booksmart is Superbad for girls! Now & Then is Stand By Me for girls!
That being said, anyone who is a fan of Superbad would have a hard time not noticing similarities. They were released twelve years apart, so it's not la Friends With Benefits/No Strings Attached or Paul Blart Mall Cop/Observe & Report situation, but they both star one half of the same sibling pair, so it's a little weird. Also, the press for Booksmart was really focused on saying it's NOT like Superbad. It definitely IS, and it's fine that it is, just be honest about it. It doesn't have to be Superbad for girls. It can be Superbad for the new generation. Superbad for Gen Z or something. I won't say anything else about Superbad now.
Booksmart is a pretty good mix of realistic (core friendship, actors that look like teens, the dialogue, the wardrobe) and exaggerated (Billie Lourd's whole role but I love her so it's okay, everyone is going to an Ivy League school, the principal is Jason Sudeikis with long hair, the girls can't find an address via social media, the whole part with dolls). It shows a lot of real aspects of teen female friendships that are not often portrayed as well as they are here.
Jessica Williams is pure magic but I can't sign off on her sleeping with a student even if it's the day before graduation and he's 20 years old.
