Two strangers fall for each other over the course of a single night in Vienna, their conversation deepening as the hours pass and dawn approaches. It's a tender, unhurried film that finds magic in words, presence, and the bittersweet knowledge that this perfect night may be all they'll ever have.

Sort of a bummer to go into it knowing it's a trilogy. It takes the wind out of the sails a bit.

Beautifully written and acted. I see why people love this. It's the kind of movie that makes you wish it happened to you. It did everything right, and I would recommend it; it's just not something I think I'll ever feel the need to watch again.

UPDATE: I have finished the trilogy and do, in fact, feel the need to watch this again.
