Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.

kinda just another mechogodzilla film. to be honest this era, the millennial era is probably my least favorite era of godzilla because it tries so much but is so vanilla in so many ways. i hope the last film of this era is something special since its one of the longest films in the franchise.

a forgettable entry at its best which is still fun in terms of a godzilla film but then again, i could watch an entertaining godzilla film thats also just...good.

The film has some good stuff going for it. It picks up after the previous film, as well as has callbacks to the original Mothra and the more obscure Space Amoeba, but it has some drawbacks too.  
They don’t use any of the familiar music for one thing, outside of the Mosura theme. Weird watching a G-film without any version of the march.  
Story is a bit all over the place too. It’s a bit like they knew how they wanted to end the film but had no real sense of how to get there, so there is a lot of “and then this happens!”  
Mothra and MechaGodzilla look great, but I can’t say this is a favorite Godzilla suit. The design looks good, but they made ZERO effort to make it look organic. It never looks like anything other than plastic and latex.  
A simple spray bottle for a misting or two wouldn’t have been TOO difficult, would it?! LOL
