david lynch. he was a true artist of his craft and you can see how important he is to the world of film aswell as being important to film lovers.

because even me, someone who's only seen 3 films of his feels the loss of his presence.
we should mourn his death but also celebrate what he has left behind.
he is the best one to do it.

just like north by northwest, threwout the film it was an 8/10 but thinking about it, its such a good exploration about obsession and how it can make you a terrible person.
obsessions are dangerous, at least specific cases like being obsessed with guns. being obsessed with a person(like in this film)
but obsession also drives us, there is a reason allot of films only happen because of obsession even if the film isn't about it.

the third act bumped it to a 8.
cause while yes you expect the main character to be right, i think there is still a sense distrust that a viewer could have while watching this film because essentially he's suspecting something that he's not fully wittnessed.

i didn't expect such a masterpiece.
its insane how well the tension is, it effortlessly flows and i was engaged the whole way threw.
its also just really funny how confident the guy was but when he got caught he remained chill asf.

at first i was gonna give this 4 stars but then i thought about it and this is such a refreshing film.
its a spy thriller without a spy but a regular man who may not be a spy but grows into a capable person who navigates threw these situations.
its also just a fun film like any good spy thriller.

The film is very bleak and dark. While the messages of the film are not subtle, its also not bad.
It feels like we aren't suppose to learn these characters all that much.
This world they've created for themselves takes no prisoners and basic morals are destroyed and nowhere to be seen.
I think the monologue about curtis taking part in cannibalisme is kinda out of the blue but it also kinda shows how far we'll go to survive and break what makes us human.

why?
why am i watching considered by many, one of cage's lesser works(that isn't a straight to dvd movie)?
because even in the early days of his career, he pushed boundries so far that even his co star(kathleen turner) got so annoyed by his different aproach in acting to the point she asked cage to be removed from the film.
we should apreciate nicolas cage in every film and yes even in the straight to dvd films.

this movie is one of the finest examples of cage doing his own thing. the voice he does for his character he made up entirely by himself, it wasn't needed but he did it anyway because he felt like the film felt like a dream so why not play into that?
the film itself has allot of good and decent elements making for a fine film, everyone does a great job but nic stands out from the rest because he genuinely does his own thing in this and so many other films.
