everybody wants some is a great spiritual succesor to dazed and confused.
i don't think it earns its runtime as much as dazed and confused but it still a blast.
my bisexual ass got treated to so much goodness, hell yeah.
some characters weren't that refined tho, like they had good dialogue but not much personality, i mean together, all of them they have great personality but i don't think if we have gotten more scenes with them alone without any character development, like how they are in the finished film, they would not be that interesting.

i love krueger in this film but i still think his incarnation from dream warriors is still his best version.
the film is a classic but i'll always preffer the third movie
Just really mediocre, for one the animation style just isn't refined like in oppolo 10 and a half.
The rotoscope gimmick kinda works in oppolo because it doesn't feel as loose like in here.
The characters are fine like there not bad but also not good.
R.I.P my goats palmer and windows, gone to soon🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
I have watched the 2019 film, awful film and now its even more awful when looking at the original.
The 2019 film tries to be a strong feministic piece but the only thing it really does is "men are bad, especially white men" wich sometimes can be true but how they present it, its not deep nor a helpfull message.
The original doesn't straightly point at men even if it does but only in small parts.
The 70s film is better in everyway, from the characters and story.
Really great but it does have minor set backs like its not funny at all and the villain is intimidating but not all that unique or anything
So this film went under allot of people's radar but i recommend watching it, its very good, sweet and sad
A film i had on my watchlist since like, the first months i created my letterboxd account but never got around to until today.
Yeah it was great, the twist was great and the animation is beautifull.
Not much to say that other people already haven't said before.
Each segment really feels like an actuall dream wich they are.
Second dreamiest feeling dream feel for me, pretty good but i don't have to say much else other then it was cool to see a famous dutch person(im dutch btw) be in a kurosawa film.
"watch clark and watch him good"
the thing is a film i have viewed for a 3rd time this month, it has he holding grip on me, i find the film so fascinating.
fascinating on how a film, when looking actually at it, has deep layers intentional or not but it does, how does a film like this get written off as "not good" when it came out in 1982?
i think its simple because 1982 audiences just didn't understand it.
1982 audiences are not dumb but there also not smart.
this and the fact the shawshank redemption did poorly are so weird when looking at them now.
it makes all the babylon dicksucking look weird when movies like this also bombed.
the ordinary cast is great, ordinary men in an abnormal situation has come out as a recepy for a classic.
no one knows who to trust who, in the end it stays that way.
the 2011 film tries to be the 1982 film but it lacks key things as to what makes the film a masterpiece.
the 1982 film is not only about a monster but also what humanity can become when isolated.
and like i said earlier, 1982's the thing has normal men in a nit normal situation.
2011 the thing replaces this with a cardboard cuttouts.
don't get me wrong the thing 1982 characters are not amaingly well written characters but them being irrational has a meaning.
them trusting eachother has a meaning but the thing 2011 dumbs this down.
the film has a main villain and main protagonist, something the thing 1982 doesn't really have either, yes the thing is a threat but there is nothing humanly villanious.
macready is definitly the biggest character in the film but there is still no definitive main character.
2011 the thing is still fun but it misses the point of the original 1982 classic.
Allot of style and substance but i say its fanservice definitly holds it back a little and the fact the cgi for a dead actor btw, is grossly bad.
The mouth looked like the mouths that are on the annoying orange at one point.
But it definitly is a strong film, its greatly directed and i like half of the cast, the other half is oke.
Idk wtf the point of the plot was or what was going on buts its not bad
