This one leans into the comedy hard, but manages to squeak out some suspense.

Technically the FIRST 80s slasher film, and it has all the trimmings! Ridiculous kills, a killer that can put themselves into suits of armor, or up a tree without anyone noticing, and the guilty party is the most obvious person with the most obvious motivation.
This is a party movie! Grab your friends, have some beers and have a great time!

It has been many years since the Doug Bradley graced the role as Pinhead, the last one being <I>Hellraiser: Hellworld</I> (2005), and ten-plus years since the dreadful and easily forgotten <I>Hellraiser: Revelations</I> (2011), and it was only time until we received a proper film. That time is now, and David Bruckner's <I>Hellraiser</I> reboot, this time with a female-fronted Cenobite (The Priest) and her crew, Chatterer, Weeper, Gasp, Asphyx, does not disappoint.
The film features a story from both Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, writers of last year's well-received <I><A HREF="https://boxd.it/jZze">The Night House</A></I>, coupled with great acting and direction.
The reboot, currently streaming exclusively on Hulu at the time of this review, has received rave reviews from critics and fans, but its success will only determine if we'll see more of The Priest and her Cenobite clan once again, which we all hope for.

<B>Personal Review</B>: I found the storyline to be well-developed and straight to the point while aided by both a great cast and cinematography. Unfortunately, I did find it too dark at times, especially since I wanted to get a clearer picture of the Cenobites' design(s). Still, if you're a fan of the series, don't miss out on this.
Theme song came up in the shuffle this evening and got me in the mood to watch the film.
This movie is still such a blast. I wish I had gone to see it in the theater back in the day. This soundtrack must have been amazing pumping out of that sound system!

I went into this film without seeing a single trailer, but, after finishing the film, I'm glad I did. Go in blind, and then watch someone's world unravel. Well-acted, great story, and a great ending. One of my 2022 favorites!

Starts legitimately creepy and then gets twisted and dark. This one is a strong recommendation.
Prior to tonight, if you had asked me if I’d seen this, I would have sworn that I had. (I think I get this mixed up in my head with that Jennifer Connelly flick)
This would have been just another generic 70s Italian slasher film If not for some masterful direction, cinematography, and set design. It’s a beautiful film, visually.
Not sure that I’m a fan of the Argento/Goblin soundtrack. There are moments that I think it heightens the creepiness, but I also think it is overused and a bit overwhelming.
Per @semifakegods’ recommendation, we watched <b><i>Kolobos</i></b> for tonight’s #ShudderSunday watch party.
I enjoy films where people are trapped in a designated setting and are being chased by some maniac who taunts them throughout. This film had that, but add in really terrible dialog, a few good kills, and a story that does or does not have a clear ending... and you're left with <I>Kolobos</I>.

“Schlocky” doesn’t begin to cover it. Logic is out the window, and talent went after it. (With exception to Jose Ferrier, who I’m guessing did this on a dare.)
