sadly enough not the worst best picture nominee this year.
the whole thing is suppose to be big, im suppose to feel the gravity of the situation but i don't. the music and editing don't do that, music and editing complete a film and honestly the music was fine in this film but it really should have been better since music can make us feel the gravity of a situation or be hopefull and editing can make us feel this way as well.
the characters are painfully average, like cool a new pope needs to get elected but why does it have to include fucking lord fuckquad, herb copperbottom and victor fucking quartermaine?

the characters we're fine but i didn't really care all that much for any of the sidecharacters.
the acting is...fine i geuss, the main performance of the lead is extremely good aswell as her singing while ariana grande, while not bad, is not that good in the acting department.
she's really good at the singing parts tho.my main issue with the film is how washed and bland it looks, the colors in the film itself are probably really good looking but the cinematography doesn't compliment it that well.
overall the cinematography and backlighting in some scene is awful.

The acting is nice but other then that i found this to be a rather average film.
I thought the plot, characters and everything else was fine.
Also i think jodie foster's character was the only one i could see die and not give a shit about lol, like not even out of anger or satisfaction.
i think the comedic bits really hurts this film, the performances are strong and the story is really good but the somewhat underdeveloped sidecharacters and out of place comedic moments are underwhelming.

The characters aren't likeable, the story is dull and without that all you have left is a gross out film that looks good about two dickheads.
Watch parasite instead, its an actuall good representation of class and its just better ingeneral then this piece of shit.

Somehow the first winnie the pooh blood and honey has more production value
when watching it it became clear the film is about honor and what lengths people in that time period would go to, to uphold that honor.
i think from that idea alone, this movie goes to great lengths to show us that exact thing.
i can understand allot of decisions made by most characters while also seeing the flaws in them.
i expected more action but this has some great writing.
i love old japanese actors because how they articulate and say words are mesmerizing.
Ricky gervais is already not a great actor but he does such a lame fucking job at voice acting here.
The film is a remake of mel brookses blazing saddles and you can see it desperately Trying to remold the original plotline from that film into here but with generic tropes you see in every animated kids film lol and also cats and dogs.
It doesn't work because for all its intends and purposes, dogs and cats are NOT the same when talking about the sense of race in human society.
This movie is so fucking smug about animated movie tropes but does them at the same fucking type, fuck off.
The animation is very oke with some stylish parts with flashbacks.
Overall just avoid this movie, just rewatch the original blazing saddles.
