Extremely underrated film.
Alan parker from what i know is a beloved director but this film is one not many people have seen.
I love this film.
I really love the "bromance" between cage and birdy. Also lets not beat around the bush here, they're homosexuals.(Also my new pfp is for my own ironic enjoyement because its awful as shit but funny)

Mediocre as fuck.
You could watch any generic heist film and get the same feeling you get out of this one.
Average characters, story and everything else.
Great entry in the micu(male incel cinematic universe)
I really liked how you can see this as a message to how dangerous technology can be and how people will take dissadvantage of it in every way.
Loved sophie thatcher and jack quad, jack's character is basically like i said, an incel lol.
Sophie thatcher is the star tho, give us more sophie thatcher‼️
Will ferrel is a pretty funny guy but no comedic actor can make a good straight to streaming comedies because their not original nor funny.
Is this a trend among comedies?
Where is the balance of jokes and actuall character development?
Its like popcorn, sometimes the saltness is to much(aka the jokes are to much)
Its not funny at all.
I can't look over how horrifiyingly beautifull the imagery is.
This film is the show at its best because it has a more interesting direction from the get go.
Its haunting but also really fun.
infinitly more charming then that fucking rancid live action film+it has no johnny depp.
the film is quirky and there is allot to like but there are so many parts that feel like filler and don't do much for me.
on the other hand i do get it, its abouts a cop who's partner ends up dissabled. its a film about the harsh realities that we al have limits.
nishi can fight, paint a car and do what ever the fuck he wants but there is a thought in the back of you're head that he struggles to comprehend what happened.
his character doesn't show allot of emotion for the first half of the film but i think thats intensional.
his cold stare makes it feel as if he feels guilty and useless but doesn't know how to show it.
on the other hand some of the things in this film are genuinely really weird, the subplot where he has to pay the yakuza back was not that important overral.
its a mixed bag but overral is a pretty good film. ngl this film is begging for a rewatch to understand it fully.my takeshi kitano ranking:

an all timer three stooge short, the jokes are there best here, i bursted out laughing when shemp got stuck and got thrown out of a closet at breakneck speed.
Basically nolans film thats artistically his most ambitious but also his most complicated one.
I don't think that its gimmick is confused or a problem.
But if you don't think about that you are left with cardboard cuttouts and an uninteresting villain.
I only watched it a second time to see what people see in it but honestly it feels like im watching a different film.
January so dry, i wouldn't be suprised if someone called this unironically good.
Greg kwedar, colman domingo and everyone else made something special.
I cried, so much, from beginning to end.
ngl i already have said everything i've could about this film.
song kang ho, you deserve an oscar.
