City god is maybe one of the most uncompromised films ever made.
Its violence is raw.
Its not flashy enough to take away the realities of it all.
From beginning to end, kids learn violence.
Its feels kinda like a virus in the film that spreads all around who comes in contact with it.Its a really heavy film to take in because not allot is let to the imagination, its characters are rooted in blood and hatred, not all of them but the majority.
But then again i don't see any parents around besides one or a couple of scenes, they probably never had someone guide them threw whats wrong or right.
They all just...are on the street alone without any grownups.
The police also do very minimum but i think thats the point.
I mean its not like the police in real life are always that helpfull.
No one is save from the rage of guns, not even children.

casino comes in swinging but looses steam at the very end.
the beginning has a sort of speedy-esk vibe, narration and on screen things happening at the same time but that sort of editing style vanishes the more and more the film goes on, it didn't need to have this but it would have been nice because that was the most fun part of the film.the last 50 min are still great, the drama is juice *smacks lips* but i do think it goes on a little to long.
how this is not higher rated is beyond me.
a simple but effective film about family.

no and thats like one problem with it, its narratively very weak but then again every bit is just charming.

the movie's great but its also not near the best fincher film.
this is a not as heavy case as se7en but still a little bit, i think its still great but idk what people think is so special about this film.
other then that the characters are great and the story is engaging.
Actually a solid ghibli film but then you have the annoying ass dad.
He's suppose to be stubborn but he's not stubborn in a fun way, he's just an asshole.
Like i think you genuinely should get away from kids if you ever think of slapping them even if they are being a brat.
I mean...i geuss it was normal maybe at the time of movies release but i still find it so fucking strange.
Anyway the dad fucking sucks but the rest of the film was pretty good.
There is like one scene where i actually was pretty impressed in how fun it was shot.

Most memorable part was when kraven was holding on to a helicopter while surfing and then got hit by a water buoy and the most cartoonish sound appeared and i bursted out laughing

the characters range from bland to bland.
how this got conceived and birthed out of someones mind is beyond me.
more animation fans should check this film out.
its a great film(and im not suprised that when it was nominated for best animated feature, it lost)
the film presents a story about a young girls life in war and onwards.so the characters are already great because you understand every action they do, trying to find joy in every place they can even if everything around them is miserable.
also the film is suprisingly funny.
the only complaint i have is that it did become very slow near the end and i don't know why but it did.
i've had my eye on this film for a long time and its worth the wait and it definitly makes me want to watch more animated movies from non english countries.
languanges that you can't understand are simply beautifull, almost every languange can be beautifull.
you don't know what they are saying but you don't have to.
not as great as mary and max but tbh, how could it be that film is a masterpiece.
