I can see why people like this, but it's not for me. Maybe if I liked Brad Pitt and/or cars more, but I don't.

Palm Springs is the defining film of the Covid quarantine.
- It came out in 2020.
- I watched it at an AirBNB for the first time.
- It's about every day being the same.
- They wear the same clothes every day, like we all did.
I was kind of bored, but I love that it was filmed in Pittsburgh, and I think Rosamund Pike looks gorgeous, and I like when Tom Cruise is like "I'm a drifter! I'm going to beat you to death and make you drink your blood from a boot!" (Not the exact quote.)
This is NOT that bad. This film gets a lot of stick, but what it pulls off is really impressive, IMO.
The production design is fantastic! Very creative in that each character and their ship have their own uniqueness about it and them.
There are some great themes covered here and that seems to get lost amongst the people that can’t see through the camp. Damn shame and their loss.

If you are wondering, like I was, what's up with the cast being two super hot women and two seemingly random men, the men wrote the movie and one also directed it. I would also cast beautiful women if I were them.
Splitsville doesn't look like it's going to be funny, but it is. It is frequently laugh out loud funny. When people told me that, I didn't believe them. I was wrong. They were right. There's a fight scene that had me cracking up. There's also a lot of really interesting camera work that I found very fascinating. I'm going to buy this on blu-ray.
My first watch of 2026! It might be the movie I've seen the most times, and it is definitely the movie I know the most words to.They like to moon ya!

Lee may provide his best Dracula, but the rest of the cast pales in comparison and it may just be a case of miscasting. Lom isn’t as good of a VanHelsing as you might imagine or hope for.
The film is ALMOST a good adaptation, but it is off just enough and the production has some pretty blatant goofs.
The main character is kind of like Jason Statham meets Wall-E.
Women and dogs persevere. Nazis do not.
The ending will never make a damn bit of sense, but the ride to it will always be a fun one for me.
Production design, visual FX, and cast were top notch for the time.
Science be damned and full speed ahead!
The montage at the end lasts longer than I expected, and I was weirdly into it.
Before watching this, I felt like Emma Stone's character would certainly be an alien. While watching it, I changed my mind a half dozen times. It will be interesting to watch it again now that I know.

I was starting to think I don't have the attention span for movies longer than 2.5 hours, but now I know for sure that I just don't really care for the Avatar franchise.
I enjoyed Zero Dark Thirty a lot more than I expected. Historically I'm pretty mixed on war films, and I thought this was going to be more focused on the Seal Team Six parts, so I was pleasantly surprised that so much of it was about the intelligence leading up to the raid. I know the raid is the big payoff, but it was probably my least favorite part of the movie. I liked how it was shot with the night vision and everything, but I was missing Jessica Chastain, and I had Chris Pratt instead.
