I love the suit/puppet combo. It's so fun, and Splinter is adorable.
Also it's cool that they swear. Everyone loves that.

The Boy and the Heron reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, except full of nightmare fodder. The fish, the frogs, the birds, the other birds, the other birds. I love Alice in Wonderland though, so I am into it.

I was not prepared for how weird Swiss Army Man is, and somehow I never got used to it. The jet skiing a few minutes in blew my mind, and then every subsequent weird thing blew it again. Nothing was what I would have expected. Wild. I love post-HP Daniel Radcliffe.
This might have been a lot better if they didn’t have to continually stroke Seagal’s ego.
He sleep walks through the film, slashes a sword every now and again and then gives some of the worst lines of the film. Why was he freakin’ there?!
I’m sure the filmmakers thought it was a real coup getting him for their little film, but they should have spent the money on giving Keith David a larger role.
This story, in many ways, was told better in the 1930s novel and I think it could be told better in a latter era outside of the 1950s Pollyanna-like philosophy.
The special effects are still pretty damn amazing, even by today’s standards, so I find it immensely watchable.
There are also some fantastically directed moments that I think elevate the story above the typical 1950s scifi film.
Pretty much an excuse for ugly men to be around beautiful topless women.
They explain why the bee girls were constantly killing men, but not why the queen kept making more bee girls.
I guess that is what queen bees do. 🤷🏻♂️

I think I liked this more than the 2025 film. Maybe about the same. The ‘94 film suffers from trying to do a little too much.
I was thinking they finally gave this an official release, but a little searching seems to show that to not be true. Maybe I was confusing it with a push to get a release. It definitely deserves better than the muddy VHS copy that co to use to float around.
Most of the funny moments are in the trailer, and the criminal side plot wasn't necessary. The movie making is a lot more fun. Not every comedy that takes place in the jungle needs to also have a criminal side plot.
I wish this was longer than 25 minutes
First time watch, and if Letterboxd ever does a Showdown for Best Vegetable Chopping Scene, I have my pick.
Other than that, this is not for me.
Brilliant film no matter how many times you watch it.
Fantastic cast, fantastic director, and fantastic script.
There are a shortage of perfect films in the world. It would be shame to damage this one.(And The Princess Bride is a Christmas movie!)
