This is pretty cute, and I was very excited that the Wizard of Oz is in it. I was hoping for something more festive though. It wasn't especially Christmasy.

Some years I give this 4.5 stars because as far as Christmas movies go, it's towards the top for me. Some years I give it 4 stars, because if I take my Christmas blinders off, Vince Vaughn might be a little TOO Vince Vaughn in this for me. This is a 4 star year, but I can't wait to see how 2026 shakes out.
Avatar. So beautiful. For every 5 minute scene that I love, there are 20 minutes that I'm daydreaming about other things. There's a Miley Cyrus song over the end credits though.
Full of iconic moments that I don't personally care about. Some of them are funny. I think it's just not for me overall.

A local library has the original German film. I’ve requested it and I’m looking forward to seeing what got lost in the translation and re-editing for the American release.
Hints of some really interesting ideas and some pretty impressive production design too.
(Also find myself a bit mesmerized by the leads hair. That is an impressive coif of hair! Second only to Strange New World’s Captain Pike.)
The scene when Seth Rogan is texting James Franco kills me. I love this movie. Why does it have 3 stars, Letterboxd?! You guys don't like drugs on Christmas?! You don't like Miley Cyrus?! Miley was flawless.
I loved this book in elementary school, and I love Judy Greer. It's pretty religious though, and honestly that's just not my vibe.

Amanda Seyfried is everything to me, and she is amazing in The Housemaid. It wouldn't work at all without her. She is perfect. She is the movie.
I don't love the Sydney Sweeney casting choice. She is kind of a dud, but Amanda Seyfried carries their scenes together, and she did get some big unexpected laughs from the crowd in the final act. The crowd was very into it, laughing and gasping and whatever the audible equivalent of a cringe is.
My primary complaint is that everything with Enzo was very Lifetime Movie-esque. As soon as he was on the screen, a Lifetime vibe took over, every single time.
