I can't make myself get fully invested in the plot, but the action sequences were a lot of fun, and I liked how everything looked.

An underrated satire with a great cast.

Even though a few quotes have stood the test of time, specifically the pie and "I'm not Josie Grossie anymore!", Never Been Kissed is kind of forgotten compared to the other teen movies of its time. I haven't really let go of the teen comedies from when I was in high school, and even I hadn't watched this in at least 20 years. Drew Barrymore is adorable and charming, and I love some Leelee Sobieski, but the plot is pretty icky across the board.
As a millennial gal, Kirsten Dunst is obviously my queen, and Gaby Hoffman is... I guess she's my princess. I've been wanting to watch this for a while, but it's not streaming, so I had to resort to YouTube. Bummer.
This would have been my favorite movie if I had seen it when it came out. It's a shame it's not accessible enough to find footing now as a cult classic, because it's themes and messaging are still so relevant, and it could inspire a new generation of feminists.

Fun, but not good.
Now You See Me 2 has such a great cast. It is a bummer that Isla Fisher didn't return, but Lizzy Caplan is super funny and a perfect addition. The story gets a little overly complicated, continuing every thread from the first while adding new elements. It becomes a lot to juggle.
I think I had tricked myself into thinking that I liked this movie a little, but I actually don't like it at all. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my all time favorites, so that is already an obstacle for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to get over. Even if I remove this from the equation though, I don't understand why Johnny Depp's Wonka looks and acts like a creepy android. The songs do not have Danny Elfman's usual charm. Nothing is charming. I guess they weren't going for charming, but I want to be charmed.

I unironically love this and the first Brady Bunch movie so much. I laugh out loud throughout the entire thing. It's just the perfect blend of paying homage to the show while parodying it, and it makes me so happy while I'm watching it.
