I can't believe Tom Green was a rapper to the extent of having a record deal, recording a five-song EP in NYC, and filming a music video all before the community access TV show started.
Other than the surprise rap career, I knew the basic outline of Tom Green's rise to fame, but it is wild to have it all laid out in front of you. He was a pioneer in that style of reality TV and in understanding how the Internet would shape television.
There is something endearing about Tom Green in his adulthood. I watched Tom Green Country before this, which is four episodes of him getting his farm in Canada running. At the end of the day, he just wants to hang out with his parents and his pals and some farm animals, and do a podcast in the loft of a barn. Same, sort of.

I want to love this, but I only like it. It gets me with a few really good laughs. Maybe the problem is that I saw Best in Show and Mighty Wind first, and it can be tough to go backwards. Either way, I love the cast, and there are a some really funny moments.
This was a lot cuter and more wholesome than I expected, even with teens having sex in a movie theater and a Hand(job)s Across America joke. So many cameos.

What a fantastic journey. I loved all the flashbacks, the adventures, the heart, the charm, the characters, the aesthetics, the casting, the everything. I was swept up in the magic and forgot it was clearly going to lead to the father's passing, and then I was a sobbing mess.
I saw Lana Del Rey perform "Get Free" a capella in 2018.
I was expecting more of a horror film. I'm glad it was a thriller instead, with Hugh Grant peppering in some dark comedy in his little sweater. It felt like it could have lasted longer, but I'm glad they didn't stretch out a longer cat-and-mouse game.
I love the cast. Hugh Grant is so charismatic. I would go in his house. He really nailed the humor in all the pop culture tangents, and I loved those moments. I had never seen Chloe East in anything other than Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, and I couldn't stop thinking about how perfect she would be in a coming of age movie like "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret," but older. It's always exciting to see Topher Grace, and obviously Sophie Thatcher has been on a hot streak.
The first one is so good. This one is nuts. I do love the snap cup though. My friends and I used to do the snap cup the year this was released, and I still have a few of the notes from it.

The seed people looked a bit hokey in their true form, but I think they were going for a “Critters” vibe.
I was rooting for Angelique the whole time. Eva Green is the only part of the movie I liked, even though I do generally enjoy most of the cast. I just didn't find it interesting or funny, and I don't like that Victoria looks 16 and Barnabas looks 45.
Drew Barrymore is the cutest, and ET is obviously a classic for a myriad of reasons. I just didn't see it until the early 2000s, so it's not MY classic.
Look, I just don't like to be grossed out. I know it's body horror, and it is intentional. I get it. They were successful, and I applaud them. I don't have to like those parts though. Despite that, it was on the road to four stars until Monstro Elisasue. The end was wild.
I'm excited for the love it has gotten during award season, even if it's not for me. The practical effects and are incredible. Demi and Margaret are both excellent, and I love the themes. I just almost talked myself back into four stars, but then I thought about the ending again.
